The Walk in Specialist Emergency (WiSE) Clinic has been established to provide greater choice to patients in how they access urgent medical care. Experts in Emergency medicine will now be available to provide comprehensive, coordinated urgent care in non life threatening situations – from initial consultation and diagnostic services, to treatment and specialist referral if required – without the patient having to visit a hospital.

Sonographer

SONOGRAPHERS :Sonographers with competency in all aspects including MSK, vascular and obstetrics are invited to join the clinical team at WiSE. We provide a challenging, stimulating and supportive environment being the first stand-alone Emergency centre of its kind.

Successful applicants must have:

  • Relevant post-graduate qualification
  • Current ASAR registration / AIR accreditation
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with patients, staff and other medical and non-medical personnel verbally and in writing
  • Dedication to ongoing clinical excellence.

  • Ability to work well in a team environment
  • Be highly motivated and have an enthusiastic attitude

Skills and experience:

  • Demonstrated ability to perform high quality medical imaging diagnostic examinations
  • Able to work autonomously
  • Good organisational skills and demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks
  • Intermediate knowledge of PACS/RIS systems

Advantageous:

  • Familiar with Philips US systems.

Radiographer

RADIOGRAPHERS: Radiographers with experience in general X-Ray and CT are invited to join the clinical team at WiSE. We provide a challenging, stimulating and supportive environment being the first stand-alone Emergency centre of its kind.

Successful applicants must have:

  • A recognised graduate qualification in diagnostic medical imaging.
  • Current EPA registration
  • Current AHPRA Registration.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with patients, staff and other medical and non-medical personnel verbally and in writing
  • Dedication to ongoing clinical excellence and exemplary patient care
  • Ability to work well in a team environment
  • Be highly motivated and have an enthusiastic attitude

Minimum skills and experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in General, OPG and CT essential.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform high quality medical imaging diagnostic examinations
  • Able to work autonomously
  • Good organisational skills and demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks
  • Intermediate knowledge of PACS/RIS systems
  • Not suitable for an SPP

Advantageous:

  • Familiar with Siemens CT scanners

Enrolled Nurse

Successful applicants must have:

  • Current registration as an Enrolled Nurse with the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia.
  • Demonstrated current post registration experience in an Emergency Department or Critical Care environment. Minimum two years experience
  • Successful completion of EN medication administration education
  • Ability to work under the indirect supervision of a Registered Nurse
  • Demonstrated high level written and verbal communication, interpersonal skills and the ability to identify key messages, issues and concerns when communicating with others.
  • Demonstrated ability to proactively engage with patients/clients to enhance service delivery and to guide others in providing service excellence.
  • Demonstrated the ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and apply professional and ethical boundaries when dealing with complex situations.
  • Intermediate computer skills and proven ability to use health information systems.
  • Detailed knowledge and understanding of risk management, safety and quality principles and the role of the Enrolled Nurse in applying these principles.
  • Paediatrics experience preferable

Medical Scribe/Observership

The Walk-in Specialist Emergency Clinic, Macquarie Park has a new learning opportunity for a temporary Medical Scribe placement.

The Medical Scribe/Intern’s role is to collaborate with the Specialist Emergency Physicians, Clinical and administrative staff as well as patients to facilitate patient flow and ensure accurate and complete medical records. He/she will accompany the physician into each assessment to document all physician-directed elements of the patient’s visit in the electronic medical record system to include symptoms, medications, physical exam findings, complete assessment and treatment plan.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Transcribing patient examination in real time into Practice Management Software
  • Understanding clinical workflow
  • Reviewing prior medical records
  • Checking on the progress of lab results and other patient data
  • Compliance with all medical processes and policies
  • Maintain confidentiality to sensitive patient information

Successful applicants must have:

  • Currently pursuing studies in healthcare, science or medicine
  • Relevant qualifications in healthcare, science or medicine
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with patients, staff and other medical and non-medical personnel verbally and in writing

Marketing Work Experience & Junior Marketing Role

We’re looking for a driven, ambitious individual who wants to learn and obtain skills for a career in marketing who is keen to gain valuable real-life experience to help kick-start their career into the exciting world of marketing.

Job Description

This job role is a rare and exciting opportunity to gain experience working in a facility that is the first of it’s kind in Australia.  You will be exposed to a number of exciting projects and opportunities. You will be guided under the direction of the Business Manager and Director but will enjoy the opportunity to bring your own individual creative flair.

You will gain experience working across a range of areas including but not limited to;

  • Assisting in the development, management, planning and scheduling of content for marketing;
  • Content creation for both internal and external marketing channels including email, video and display ad design;
  • The reinvigoration of existing marketing collateral;
  • Assisting with the development and marketing of education and training sessions;
  • Assist in planning and managing online advertising and updating existing physical marketing collateral such as brochures and advertising flyers etc; and
  • Assist in the improvement of our data collection
  • Manage communication to the desired audience

Hours

There is an unpaid and a paid Junior Marketing Assistant opportunity for those currently enrolled in a university or college course studying marketing, branding or communications or for those who have recently completed an industry related course and looking to gain valuable experience. Hours are flexible with a minimum commitment of two days a week.
