Beat the Heat: Beat Sydney’s Heat this Summer!

In the coming days Sydney siders are going to be hit by a heat wave that will see temperatures soar to more than 40 degrees, we’ve collated a few handy tips to held beat the heat. During this period please take extra care to look after yourself, family and friends. There are few simple tips to beating the heat you can follow says Emergency specialist Dr John Kennedy Fellow of Australasian College of Emergency Medicine, an expert in the field of Heat illness.

Dr Kennedy states we should take extra care for the elderly whose kidneys, heart and lungs can be more easily affected by the extreme heat. Further, their medication doses may also need to be adjusted by their GP as the heat may affect the availability of the drug in the body which may cause adverse side effects.
