Fracture Clinic
At WiSE Fracture Clinic our vision is to provide immediately accessible, patient-focused, Orthopaedic & Physiotherapy care for fractures and/or musculoskeletal injuries.
WiSE Fracture Clinic is run each week by a Specialist team of Orthopaedic Surgeons from Macquarie University Hospital, led by Dr. Mustafa Alttahir and expert Physiotherapists from Set In Motion Physiotherapy (SIM Physio).
Why The Fracture Clinic?
To ensure appropriate management of your fracture and/or musculoskeletal injury, your Emergency Doctor has indicated a referral to the WiSE Fracture Clinic is required.
You will be seen by our Physiotherapist and Orthopaedic Surgeon/ Fellow / Registrar who will examine your injury and decide if further imaging is needed. You may be placed in a cast, splint, cam boot or other recovery support item.
Follow up appointments:
For all fractures or major injuries, you will be required to follow up with our Fracture Clinic again at a later date. This may include re-imaging and cast removal. If an Orthopaedic review is not required, then you may be asked to see our Physiotherapist on-site for further treatment. Physiotherapy may also be indicated for musculoskeletal complaints, acute or chronic, that may benefit from a rapid assessment.

- Streamlined referrals to off-site MRI if required
Costs and Fees

| Orthopaedic Consult | Bulk billed for Medicare elligible patients. Non eligible patients will have to pay extra schedule/AMA rates. |
| Physiotherapy | GAP FREE for private health insurance patients. Available with Fracture Clinic service only. $45 for non-private health. |
