Dr Stephen Guy

General Surgeon

Dr Stephen Guy is a General Surgeon based on the Gold Coast in Queensland (Australia). He completed his Bachelor of Medicine/Bachelor of surgery at Griffith University with first class Honours in 2013 and was awarded a number of awards including the University medal and the Surgery prize. He completed his Master of Science (Surgical Sciences) from the University of Edinburgh in 2017 and became a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in February 2022. Dr Guy gained post fellowship experience in upper gastrointestinal and endocrine surgery as the Upper Gastrointestinal Surgery Fellow at the Gold Coast University Hospital in 2022. He is currently one of the staff specialists on the Acute Surgical Unit at the Gold Coast University Hospital and holds accreditation at both Gold Coast Private Hospital and Pindara Private Hospital. He has achieved recognition of training with the Gastroenterological Society of Australia (GESA) in both gastroscopy and colonoscopy and is an instructor on the Care of the Critically Ill Surgical Patient (CCrISP) course for the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (RACS). Dr Guy holds the academic title of Lecturer at Griffith University and has a keen interest in the education of medical students, junior doctors and surgical registrars. He is involved in research in the fields of upper gastrointestinal, colorectal and emergency surgery.
